Why We Serve

Ella’s House exists to empower women to become successful students and parents on campus. By connecting peers in similar circumstances, providing physical and mental health resources, and supporting women as they pursue their degrees, Ella’s House meets a critical need.

Delay Degree or Drop Out

Women who have children are 65% more likely to drop out of college than women without children.

The cost of dropping out of college measured by lost earnings in a single year.

Less than 2% of teen moms earn a college degree by age 30. Many are forced to delay a degree.

Keep the Baby

Women less than 25 years of age account for 46% of abortions.

38% of women who get abortions do so because “having a baby would interfere with their education.”

Pathway to Success

Ella’s House provides holistic support for pregnant and parenting college students in Middle Tennessee. Our hope is that by earning a degree and achieving their goals, families and communities are strengthened.

More than five million undergraduate students are currently pregnant or parenting, making up more than 25% of the entire U.S. student population.

Every little bit helps. Just $100 a month can provide diapers for a year.
