As I was approaching the end of what most college students consider their last summer of freedom, the infamous few months before senior year began, I found out I was pregnant. A million worries ran through my head with the most important one being: how in the world am I, a college student, going to raise a child and finish school? The end of my lease quickly approached and I had no idea where I was going to live during my pregnancy and after.
Until one day I was aimlessly scrolling through my Facebook page, and an ad for Ella’s House came up. How oddly specific I thought? I quickly reached out and they responded with open arms and willingness to help me through this journey I was so scared to be on.
I moved into Ella’s House soon after, and for the first time since I became pregnant, I thought to myself , “maybe I can do this”. Ella’s House has provided me with unconditional love and support, and shoulders to lean on when I thought I was all alone. No one could have prepared me for the loneliness that came along with being pregnant in college, but Ella’s house has assured me that my baby girl will be the best thing that has ever happened to me, and that it is possible to obtain my degree so that I can provide her with the best life possible. I am forever grateful for these women that have changed my life.
